Travel from Bangkok through the beauty of Thailand, to the infamous River Kwai and onwards to Malaysia, colonial Georgetown and Fort Cornwallis, before crossing the causeway over the Straits of Johor to the elegant city of Singapore.

Itinerary
A journey of 4 days/3 nights

Sunday - Bangkok: Departs 17:50. Depart Bangkok and after being welcomed aboard, settle into your compartment. Tee and dinner is served as you travel out of the city into the countryside with its rice fields, villages and water buffalo.

Monday - Wang Po & River Kwai: Arrives 08:20. The next morning after having an early breakfast disembark for a visit to the River Kwai, including a boat excursion to see the infamous bridge and splendid Thai teakwood houses. Rejoin the train and reflect on the day's morning events over lunch and, perhaps, a drink in the Bar Car, complete with its resident pianist. Tea, dinner and overnight on board. Departs Kanchanaburi 11:00

Tuesday-Penang: Arrives 14:30. Breakfast is served in your compartment before a visit to the Observation Car to watch the contrasting scenery as the train passes from Thailand's terraced farms into Malaysia's rubber plantations. Midday enjoy a guided tour of colonial Georgetown, Penang, which includes an introductory tour of this historic town and Fort Cornwallis, and a trishaw ride through the colourful narrow streets. Again tea, dinner and overnight on board. Stop for Kuala Lumpur a few minutes before midnight. Departs Butterworth 16:30. Arrives Kuala Lumpur 23:00 and departs 23:45

Wednesday-Singapore: Arrives 09:20.. Breakfast is taken as you relax over freshly baked croissants in your compartment as the Eastern & Oriental Express crosses the causeway over the Straits of Johor for a morning arrival in Singapore.
