Journey on board the Eastern & Oriental Express departing from Bangkok and travel north to Chiang Mai. Enjoy visits to Si Satchanalai, part of the ancient Khmer empire, revered 13th century Buddhist temples and Lampang en route, before returning to Bangkok.

Itinerary
A journey of 4 days/3 nights

Tuesday - Bangkok: Departs 15:00. The Eastern & Oriental Express will depart Bangkok in the afternoon. Make yourself comfortable in your private compartment or visit one of the stylish bar or saloon cars. Whilst travelling into Northern Thailand the traditional afternoon tea is served. In the evening a delightful dinner will be served at one of the sumptuous dining cars. Visit again the bar car for a cool drink and listen to the resident pianist before retiring to your compartment which has been transformed to a comfortable bedroom.

Wednesday - Chiang Mai: Arrives 08:25. Enjoy the breakfast at your compartment before the E&O arrives in Chiang Mai where a range of full day tours is offered: Elephant camp and ride, a guided city tour or visit traditional Thai handicraft workshops and boutiques. The lunch off board is included. Back on board the Eastern & Oriental Express the afternoon tea is served in your compartment and in the evening there will be again a delicious dinner. Overnight on board. Departs 17:30

Thursday - Si Satchanalai & Lampang: Arrives 08:30. The steward serves breakfast at your cabin before the E&O arrives at Sawankhaloke. Some coaches will take you to Si Satchanalai, which is a part of the northernmost citadel of the empire of the ancient Khmer godkings. Discover the stunning Buddhist temples dating back to the 13th century before you reboard the Eastern & Oriental Express at Sila for a delightful lunch. Mid afternoon the E&O arrives in Lampang for a horse-drawn carriage ride to Baan Sao Nok which is the house of many pillars. The afternoon tea is served in this house built in traditional Lanna Thai style and supported on 116 teak pillars. Back on the Eastern & Oriental Express the last dinner is served. Departs 11:30 Sila At (Reboard the E&O). Arrives Lampang 15:25. Pony cart ride and tea at teak house. Departs Lampang 17:30.

Friday-Bangkok: Arrives 09:30. In the morning after having breakfast you arrive in Bangkok where you disembark.
